More Tanning Bed Dangers News

A recent interview with a women who had skin cancer at the age of 18. She stated that she started tanning at the age of 15. [include file=ad1.txt]

She doesn’t state how often she went or if she abuse the tanning beds (meaning she went everyday or stayed for to long) this is sometimes overlooked by everyone.

It’s easy to blame the tanning beds, but I’m not sure if used properly they would cause the damage that many claim they inflict.  I’m not suggesting they are totally safe either – I don’t think anybody knows for sure.

Plenty of warnings have been issued about the dangers of tanning. In the U.S., 1 in 3 cases of cancer is skin cancer, which is often caused by by ultraviolet radiation from sunlight. So, are tanning beds a safer alternative?

One man with a vested interest in those statistics is Scott Hendrickson from Eclipse Sunless Tanning Salon. He describes on FOX 26 Morning News the safety of tanning beds and the alternative tanning processes available.

Dr. Paul Friedman, co-author of “Beautiful Skin Revealed: The Ultimate Guide To Better Skin,” and a skin cancer patient he treated together explain why indoor tanning beds may have led to her diagnosis. He also recommended some safe alternatives to indoor tanning bed use.
